Description

Team2Bit (the Lewandowski Brothers) is an indie game studio comprised of 2 brothers, Matt Kain Lewandowski and Jake Lewandowski, located in the Bay Area, California. Our mission is to make the kind of games we’d personally like to play, guided entirely by our own processes, without outside influence. Our games have been exhibited at E3, GDC, PAX Prime, PAX East, and Indiecade and and can be purchased for a variety of platforms and distribution channels including Xbox One, Xbox 360, Steam, GOG, the Humble Store, Google Play, the App Store, Desura, and OUYA. We're also graduating members of IGN's Indie Open House program and winners of season 1 of IGN's The Next Game Boss. Our games include Final Fleet, Reagan Gorbachev, Fist Puncher (which we kickstarted back in 2012), Washington's Wig, and Washington's Wall.

History

Wisconsin

Born in a small town in Southeastern Wisconsin, Jake and Matt Lewandowski grew up on cornfields and NES games. As kids they made their own games for old Texas Instruments and Commodore computers, and eventually migrated to PC.

California and The Next Game Boss

They relocated west to escape the dark Wisconsin winters and search out better Mexican food, eventually settling on California's central coast. Appearing as 'Team Fist Puncher' the brothers won IGN's indie game development reality show 'The Next Game Boss' in March of 2012. Their winning game, Washington's Wig, featured George Washington's fictional canine Dogsworth McFreedom racing across the Delaware River to return his master's missing wig. After winning The Next Game Boss, Team2Bit was added to the roster of IGN's Indie Open House, a game development incubator program located at the IGN headquarters in downtown San Francisco. Later that year, Washington's Wig was released on Xbox LIVE. Washington's Wig was eventually ported to iOS and Android as well.

Fist Puncher

In April of 2012 Team2Bit successfully Kickstarted their first major game - Fist Puncher, an homage to and parody of old school brawlers featuring 20 playable characters and 50 levels of mayhem. FIST PUNCHER was alpha released to Kickstarter backers in Fall of 2012. Later that year, Team2Bit signed a publishing agreement with Adult Swim, and in 2013 Fist Puncher was released by Adult Swim on Steam. The Adult Swim Steam release of Fist Puncher also includes DLC allowing gamers to play as Robot Unicorn from the popular Adult Swim game Robot Unicorn Attack.

Reagan Gorbachev

After Fist Puncher was released on Steam, Team2Bit reached a two title deal with OUYA where they agreed to both release Fist Puncher on and bring an exclusive title to the OUYA console. The exclusive title was Reagan Gorbachev, a top-down stealth game where players controlled historical icons Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev. After a limited release on OUYA, Reagan Gorbachev received a wide release on PC and Xbox One in February of 2016.

Final Fleet and more

In 2016, the brothers moved from 2D action and began working on a variety of Virtual Reality titles. This work resulted in Final Fleet, a two-handed space shooter and armada builder for the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. While working on Final Fleet, Team2Bit also launched Washington's Wall, a sequel to Washingtons's Wig. Washington's Wall was released on Android and iOS in May of 2017. Currently Final Fleet remains in early access on Steam and the brothers continue to iterate on the game and prepare for a final release.

The Rest

Jake's day job is managing a weatherization and energy efficiency company, while Matt writes educational games and applications for UC Berkeley. When they aren't working, the brothers relax by chopping wood, shooting guns and doing other manly things the average indie developer could only dream of.
